Dear Parent(s),
This week’s highlights:
Wow! The children had a blast watching eth 8th graders compete in a basketball game against the Running Reverends. The Running Revs are a group of Rockford Diocese clergy that go around to different Catholic schools and play basketball!
During math this week the children continued to practice place value and use the 100 chart to identify patterns. Next week, the children will be working on using the greater than (>) and less than (<) symbols.
We took advantage of the beautiful weather to bring our classroom outdoors this week. During science, we went on a hunt and looked for everyday things that are simple machines: inclined plains, wheel an axles, wedges, levers and pulleys. It was great to see these simple machines in action.
We took the opportunity to celebrate Earth day and discussed the importance of each person doing their part to keep our world beautiful and “healthy”. I am proud to say that the future adults of our world have everything under control…their ideas were amazing!
Important reminders:
Mother’s Day Prayer Service- Friday, May 11th- 9:30 (our classroom)
We are in need of empty cereal boxes!
Have a blessed weekend,
Mrs. Ruzbasan
