As I begin my 9th year of teaching at St. Thomas I am reminded what a
privilege it is to be a part of Catholic Education. After spending six
years teaching fifth grade, I moved to 8th grade teaching English and
Religion. I am a product of 16 years of Catholic education, graduating
from St. Norbert in 1986 with a degree in Elementary Education. My
first assignment was at St. Leonard School in Berwyn teaching first
grade. My husband and I had our first child in 1990 and I stayed home
to raise all of our children for the next 9 years. I resumed teaching
at St. Thomas and have been there since. I received my Masters Degree
in Curriculum and Instruction in 2006 fulfilling my dream to continue my
education with graduate work.
My husband Tom and I have been married for 20 years. We have three
children. James will be a senior at Marian High School. We are
searching out colleges for him to attend next fall. Emily is beginning
her freshman year at Marian and is looking forward to her years there.
Peter is in 7th grade here at St. Thomas and is so happy that he will
FINALLY receive the "family envelope". All of our children have
attended St. Thomas and have benefited from the tremendous gift of a
Catholic education.
