Section 1: The Respiratory System 1.) The respiratory system brings oxygen into the body and removes carbon dioxide. 2.) Breathing brings air into the lungs and removes waste gases. 3.) The exchange of oxygen and carbon dioxide between the alveoli and capillaries, and between capillaries and body cells, happens by the process of diffusion. 6.) Smoking causes many problems throughout the respiratory system such as chronic bronchitis, emphysema, and lung cancer. |

Section 2: The Excretory System 1.) The kidneys are the major organs of the urinary system. They filter wastes from all of the blood in the body. 2.) The skin, lungs, liver, and the large intestine are the major excretory organs. 3.) When kidneys fail to work, dialysis can be used to filter the blood. Dialysis is a kidney machine. 4.) Urine can be tested for signs of urinary tract disease and other diseases. |
