Sports

St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic School provides athletic opportunities for students in grades 5-8. The year kicks off in the fall with co-ed cross country and girl's volleyball. The winter season holds boy's basketball, cheerleading and girl's basketball. Winter finishes up and spring begins with boys volleyball. Spring includes track and field opportunities for both boys and girls. St. Thomas is a member of the Northwest Suburban Catholic Conference.

 

Music

Choir opportunities to raise young voices in praise are available to students in grades 3-8. Choir students will lead the congregation in melodic praise during the school Masses and occassionaly during a Sunday family Mass. Choir meets during lunch times and before the scheduled Mass. This year the St. Thomas the Apsotle Catholic School choir will be particpating the the High Note competition at Six Flags of America! All students in grades K-4 perform in a Christmas Concert. Grade 4 students usually include a short Christmas play with their concert. Band opportunities begin in grade 4. Band is an extra-curricular program brought to our school during the school day for students who wish to praticipate. Students in grades 5-8 may participate in a musical play presented at the Raue Center for the Arts in lovely downtown Crystal Lake. This provides the students with an incredible experience of performing on a professional stage managed by cerified personnel.

 

Other Activities

Grades 5-8 are involved in a Student Council which coordinates school day activities which include organizing charitable donation collections each month to special activities for various days throughout the year. Students can learn how to play chess and participate in weekly chess club. Various scouting opportunities are available after school. No one home after school? St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic School provides an extend time program for parents to pick up students later than the scheduled dismissal. Check here for registration information.
