Mrs. Roy, Principal
Deanne Roy has been an administrator at St. Thomas the Apostle School since July of 2001 when she began as the assistant principal. The following year, she assumed the role of principal. Mrs. Roy graduated from DePaul University with a BA in Communications and a MAT from National Louis University where she also received her teaching certification. She received her Administration certificate while enrolled in a doctoral program at Northern Illinois University where she continues to pursue her EdD in Curriculum and Instruction. Mrs. Roy has worked in the education field since 1986 when she taught at St. Eugene School in Chicago, IL. After marrying her husband, Bill, she relocated to McHenry County and worked as a teacher in Woodstock School District 200. She has three sons, one is a graduate of Marian and another is a student at Marian Central Catholic High School. Her youngest is in 8th grade at St. Thomas.
Mrs. Pomili, Assistant Principal
This is my third year at St. Thomas. I most recently taught at McHenry Community College in the Math Department for six years and previous to that I was an assistant principal in McHenry District 15. I have also been a middle school math teacher in Lake Zurich. I received my Masters Degree and administrative certificate from Northern Illinois University. I earned a Bachelor Degree in Education from Illinois State University. I live in Lakewood with my husband and twin sons, who attend St. Thomas. We are members of St. Mary’s Parish in Huntley. The St. Thomas family is a great place to be!
Ms. Boppart, Administrative Assistant
St. Thomas School holds a special place in my heart; I have been blessed to be a part of the St. Thomas School family for several years. My son James and daughter Mary are both graduates of St. Thomas School as well as Marian Central Catholic High School. James is now a junior at The University of Missouri and Mary is a sophomore at Augustana College. I am a graduate of Marian Central Catholic High School and The University of Iowa (…….go Hawkeyes!!). I obtained my degree in journalism and public relations with a minor in psychology.
I truly enjoy working with both the parents and students at St. Thomas School. I would be happy to assist you with any questions or concerns you may have about our school.
Mrs. Butterfield, Administrative Assistant
Having attended St. Thomas School in the early 1960’s, I have seen many changes throughout the years. My husband John and I were married at St. Thomas, my home parish. We have four daughters…our oldest twins are on their own…one living in Idaho and the other married living in the city. Our third daughter is a recent college grad and continuing her education in cardio sonography. The youngest, that keeps me on my toes, is a new driver and a junior in high school!
I have a B.S. degree from the University of Arizona and have worked in McHenry County since 1970…Pharmacies, Baskin Robbins , senior citizens Meals on Wheels , restaurant management and for the past 15 years St. Thomas School. It is so much fun to watch the children grow and change from K to 8th grade----especially love their visits to the office.
