7B Homeroom

7th Grade English and 7th and 8th grade Social Studies

I am a graduate of the University of Illinois at Chicago where I received my bachelor's degree in Social Science Education.  I am coming to St. Thomas with two years of teaching experience from McHenry Community High School District 156.  There I taught a wide variety of social study courses and always aimed at bringing the topics studied alive for my students.  I am thoroughly excited to continue these efforts with the Junior High students here at St. Thomas  and I am ready for a great year.

On a personal note, I am married and have two wonderful small boys at home.
Taso will turn four in May, and Vinny turned one in December.  Their energy and excitement in life keeps a smile on my face all day long.

God definitely opened doors for me to be here, so I am excited to see what he has planned for me here at the school.

8B Homeroom

8th Grade English; 7th and 8th grade Accelerated Math and Science

I have been a part of the St. Thomas faculty family for 18 years teaching accelerated math and science for seventh and eighth grade. As of last year, I added a homeroom - the fabulous 8B - and eighth grade English. My husband, Don, and I have lived in Crystal Lake since 1988. All three of our children are graduates of St. Thomas School which means that one of my daily pleasures is to pass their class pictures hung on the school walls. Our oldest, Don and his wife Linda (also a St. Thomas graduate), live in Crystal Lake. They were married last year and are both in the restaurant business. Our younger son was married this August, just before school began. David works for Kimberly-Clark and had lived in Appleton, Wisconsin for three years. However, he and his wife, Andrea, have transferred to Fullerton, CA (near LA). Our daughter, Deanna, has followed in my footsteps and become a teacher. I consider myself so blessed because she is a fellow faculty member, teaching fourth grade right here at St. Thomas School! The newest member of our family is Della, a seven pound miniature pinscher and long-haired dachshund mix. We found her at the Huntley Animal House Shelter and fell in love with her sweet nature. I recommend checking out the shelters and rescue organizations for that special pet to make your family complete.
