I began in the St. Thomas library in 1994 and moved into the lab back in 2000. I completed my Bachelors Degree in Biology with a minor in Chemistry from Ball State University, a Masters in Education from Boise State in Educational Technology and a second Masters in School Administration from St. Xaviers. I am very excited to join the administrative team of St. Thomas this year.
My son and daughter are both graduates of St. Thomas, Prairie Ridge and University of Dayton and St. Norbert's University respectively. They are both Music Educators in the area. My husband and I reside in Crystal Lake and enjoy time with our two grandchildren who also attend Little Saints and St. Thomas
St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic School is a great choice for education as it provides Gospel values and academic excellence. I look forward to yet another year of challenging young minds with ideas for the future.
I am truly honored to have been given the opportunity to serve as Preschool Director for the 2016-2017 school year at St. Thomas Little Saints Preschool. I hold a Bachelor of Arts degree in Education from Eastern Illinois University and Northeastern Illinois University and Masters of Arts in Curriculum and Instruction from Concordia University. Prior to teaching preschool at St. Thomas the Apostle School, I have experience teaching in Kindergarten, 3rd grade, 4th grade, Reading Readiness, Bilingual Education and Title 1 Reading/Math Kindergarten-5th Grade. Having a strong passion for children and educational issues, I have spent much time working within the classroom, as well as with outside organizations to benefit the well-being of children. As an avid public speaker, I have done motivational speaking for Rainbows For All Children: Grief Support for Children, Kids HOPE International and Generosity: Cary Gove Neighborhood Life. In addition to educational causes, I have a true love for my Faith and Family. One of my greatest joys is spending time with my husband Ryan and children Benjamin (6th grade) and Sophie (4th grade). I love God's beautiful creatures and happily share our home with two magnificent dogs, Sarah and Sally. Along with spending time with my family, I enjoy coaching poms and dance for Cary Trojans. I am both privileged and honored to serve as the Director for St. Thomas Little Saints Preschool.
This is my ninth year as a teacher with St. Thomas Catholic School and Little Saints Preschool. I have been in Early Childhood Education for 24 years, including being a director and owner of my own preschool. I am a firm believer of continuing education and have received my Illinois Director Credential. I hope to facilitate a classroom environment that encourages creativity, hands on experiences and self confidence, with God as the center of all that we do. It is my goal to maintain open communication with all of our parents and families. I reside in Crystal Lake with my husband, and I am the proud mother of three grown children, a daughter in-law, a son-in -law and three, soon to be four beautiful grandchildren. One of my favorite hobbies is Quilting!
