Mrs. Gvozdjak

I enjoy and have a passion for working with our students and staff to help each child reach their full potential. I have previously worked in special education, K-5, as well as preschool. I enjoy teaching at St. Thomas because we have a faith-filled phenomenal faculty and a great school family! During my time at St. Thomas, I have also taught kindergarten as well as first grade.

Our resource team is dedicated to helping our students grow in their God-given gifts and faith as well as their academics. To do this, we complete benchmarks for each student three times a year to monitor growth. In addition, we progress monitor students regularly to help target areas so we can help them grow. We work closely with classroom teachers to plan instruction for small groups and individual students. We regularly push into classrooms to assist all students in the classroom setting. Our team looks for ways we can support students who are struggling as well as students who have mastered what is being taught and are eager for a challenge.

I have a degree in education from NIU. My husband and I have two children. My family calls Resurrection parish in Woodstock, home. My husband and I are very close to both sides of our family and enjoy spending time with them. In my free time I enjoy gardening, cooking, reading with my girls, and camping.

I am looking forward to an exciting and faith filled school year!
