Mrs. Reis

It has been an honor for me to be teaching art at St. Thomas School since 2005 and library since 2016.

I live in Woodstock with my husband, Steve, an architect. We became proud grandparents to Nayeli this past March. She and her parents (our oldest daughter) live in Texas, so we have become frequent flyers. Our younger daughter lives in Chicago. When not at school I keep busy with gardening, creating art, reading, caring for our two cats and cheering on the Blackhawks.

The Art program at St. Thomas School exposes the students to a range of art styles, artists, and religious artwork. Each lesson incorporates Art History and technology. Students work in a range of media from paint & pastels to wire & clay as they create their 2D and 3D artwork. In addition, they learn the seven Elements of Art, the seven Principles of Design and Color theory and apply it to their art. Our talents are gifts from God and each of them are unique. Our Art program helps nurture and develop each students God given natural artistic talents.
